France’s Macron reaffirmed need for Gaza ceasefire in call with Qatar’s Emir.

 

Macron also stressed the need to end fighting in the Gaza Strip during the same conversation with Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani on Friday, the statement said.

Macron further said that France’s presence would remain serving within the Unifil, a peacekeeping mission by the United Nations in Lebanon with an aim of preventing escalation of unrest.

Macron also held a call with the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al Sisi on Thursday.

As well as on Friday, the Saudi foreign ministry also issued a statement in supporting the US, Egypt, and Qatar for extending the ceasefire talks to involve the Israel and hamas parties in gaza on 15th of August.

As the ministry pointed out the kingdom supported in full the mediators’ efforts to restore ceasefire and address at the earliest the sharply escalating humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.
