Indian filmmaker and well-known lyricist Javed Akhtar slammed a user on social media for saying an inappropriate phrase.
According to an Indian media report, Javed Akhtar, who openly expressed his opinion on socio-political issues, scolded a social media user who called him ‘traitor’s son’.
Javed Akhtar made a post on the social networking website ‘X’ regarding US President Joe Biden.
He wrote that ‘I am proud to be an Indian citizen and till my last breath I will remain an Indian citizen but there is a common fact between me and Joe Biden.
Both of us have equal chances of becoming the President of the United States.
In a comment on the said post, a user called him ‘traitor’s son’ and said that ‘Your father played an important role in making Pakistan a separate homeland for Muslims, then he disguised himself as a progressive writer. Chose to stay in India.
You are the son of a traitor who divided our nation on the basis of religion, now say anything but it is true.
The patience of the former Rajya Sabha MP and lyricist was exhausted on this comment.

“It is difficult to decide whether you are completely ignorant or completely stupid,” he responded.
He further wrote that ‘since 1857, my family was at the forefront of the freedom movement and was imprisoned in jail and black water, then perhaps your ancestors were licking the boots of the British government.’
It should be noted that Javed Akhtar’s great-grandfather Fazl-e-Haq Khairabadi had actively participated in the 1857 War of Independence against the British East India Company.
Fazl-e-Haq Khairabadi was imprisoned in Kala Pani Jail for participating in this war where he died in the same jail in 1864.
