ISLAMABAD: Eight people died due to lightning strike during rain in Tharparkar, the highest number of six deaths occurred in Akrarubhil village of Nangarpar.

According to details, various accidents including lightning strikes occurred during the ongoing monsoon rains across the country.

In which 16 people including 2 children were killed while dozens were injured, the highest number of six deaths occurred in Nangarpar village Akrarubhel.

Eight people were killed by lightning in a village near Nangarparkar Police said that six members of the same family were present in the field when the lightning struck, killing two 8-year-old girls, a 10-year-old boy, 2 youths and an elderly person. While seven cattle were also killed.

Apart from this, a 40-year-old passer-by was killed while an 11-year-old girl was also killed in Khamisu Mangriu village of Chhachro.

In Swabi, four people drowned in floodwaters, two people died in Rawalpindi, while a child lost his life due to electrocution on Peshawar Road and a child died when the roof of a house collapsed in Mirpur.
