IMF Declares Budget Approval Inadequate. 

ISLAMABAD: The IMF has termed the budget approval inadequate, and demanded a do-more on electricity and gas prices.

 

According to sources, after the approval of the budget, the IMF has demanded a do mor, the IMF wants to increase the rates of electricity and gas, and has asked the government of Pakistan to increase the rates of electricity from July 1.

 

The IMF demands immediate implementation of Nepra’s decision to increase the price of electricity, and control subsidies by increasing gas rates in the new fiscal year.

 

According to the sources, the IMF wants to implement all the preconditions for the new loan program, the IMF delegation is likely to visit Pakistan in the second week of July, while the program to visit Pakistan in the last week of June has been postponed.
