Pakistan Railways has reduced the fares of passenger trains.
The fares of all trains and its classes have been reduced.
According to the spokesperson, AC class fares have been reduced by Rs 100 to Rs 150, while economy class fares have been reduced by Rs 50.
The reduction in fares will be applicable on all passenger trains from August 3.
The announcement of reduction in fares by the railway department has come after the reduction in the prices of petroleum products.
After the Prime Minister’s approval, the Finance Ministry has issued an official price reduction notification, according to which the price of petrol has been reduced by Rs 6.17 paise per litre.
The new price of petrol is 269 rupees 43 paise per liter.
The price of diesel per liter has been reduced by 10 rupees 86 paise, after which the new price of diesel has become 272 rupees 77 paise per litre.
