A notification has been issued for deployment of civil armed forces and army across the country to maintain peace during Muharram.
Pakistan Army and Civil Armed Forces will be deployed to maintain law and order during Muharram throughout the country.
In this regard, the Ministry of Home Affairs has approved the request of all four provinces and issued notification for the appointment.
According to the notification, the army is being deployed to assist the civil administration.
The notification states that the deployment of the army will be based on the ground conditions and it will be the province’s discretion to call in the army if required.
According to the notification, the army will also be deployed in Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
It should be noted that the deployment of army and civil armed forces was requested by the four provinces to maintain peace during Muharram.
On the other hand, with the beginning of Muharram, security has been increased throughout the province including Lahore.
In this regard, more than 43,000 officers will perform security checks.
The IG Punjab says that security will be on high alert throughout the province during the tenth month of Muharram and implementation of Section 144 enforced by the Punjab government will be ensured.
