The Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office released a statement on Tuesday morning announcing the pop star’s arrest and formal charges. They declined to offer more information.

 

Sag Harbor, an opulent community in the Hamptons and a well-liked summer vacation spot for celebrities on Long Island, is where Timberlake was detained.

 

Following official charges, the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office claimed he was freed without bond.

 

The 43-year-old Timberlake was scheduled to launch a world tour in support of his sixth album, Everything I Thought It Was.

 

One of the best-selling musicians in the world, Timberlake is an actor, composer, and former member of the well-known boy band NSYNC.

 

The pop diva has previously been candid about getting treatment for binge drinking.

 

Penalties in the state of New York for driving under the influence include a $1,000 (£786) fine, a minimum six-month license suspension, and up to a year in jail.

 

Timberlake was supposed to play two performances in Chicago this weekend and one in Madison Square Garden in New York City the following Tuesday.
