LAHORE: As part of the “Chief Minister Roshan Gharana” scheme, the Punjabi government recently announced that 50,000 households around the province would receive free solar systems.
The province administration has completed the procedure of offering the general public free solar panels in this regard.
Free solar systems will be given to homes using up to 100 units of electricity each month under the program. All costs, including the price of the solar systems and their installation, will be paid for by the government.
The installation and whole cost of the solar system would be covered by the Punjab government. Ten billion rupees will be spent on the project.
Eligibility will not extend to houses that profit from electricity theft, meter tampering records, or any other scheme.
Free solar systems will be given by the government to households using up to 100 units of electricity each month. The program will not be available to people who have engaged in unlawful actions such as meter tampering or electricity theft.
Has to be a citizen of Pakistan. A valid Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) is a requirement. Solar panel installation requires either ownership of the property or permission from the owner.
Families using up to 100 units monthly will have their data forwarded to the National Telecommunication. Following verification, the NTC will subsequently forward the information to the Punjab Information Technology Board.
Families that meet the requirements can sign up for the program by SMS. They must email their CNIC and bill reference number to 8800.
Following verification, they will receive an update on the outcomes. Apart from that, the relevant government body in charge of the program will provide the website URL for citizens to apply through.
To apply for the program, candidates can also stop by any Bank of Punjab office. As soon as your application is accepted, you will be notified of its progress.
