On Wednesday, a guy barricaded himself in an apartment in Melbourne, Florida, and authorities reacted to an active shooter incident.
For the most of the morning, the public was asked to stay away from the area around Babcock Street and Strawbridge Avenue.

A police department spokesman told that upon arriving to the Pentagon Gardens condominiums in response to a complaint regarding suspicious behavior, they were confronted by fire.
Officials reported that no cops were injured. Melbourne police posted on social media, saying,
“The incident has been contained at this point, however the investigation remains ongoing.”
The public is urged to stay away from the area between Babcock Street and Strawbridge Avenue.
