Heatwave-related concerns also start to come in as summer approaches. But the arrival of mangoes is surely the sweet side of summer. Mangoes are a seasonal joy that are luscious, adaptable, and take center stage in our kitchens and hearts. These berries, which are bursting with flavour, provide a cool diversion from the summer heat and have endless culinary possibilities.
While mangoes are incredible on their own, there are many delightful ways to enjoy this beloved fruit.
Refreshing beverages
Done! Simply blend ripe mango pieces with yogurt, orange juice, and a handful of ice. You’re sipping a lovely smoothie glass. If you’d rather something different, chilled green mango juice is also a vitamin-rich, delightful treat. Alternatively get some mango puree, soda, and fresh mint leaves and lime wedges. This mocktail of mango mojito is likely to be popular.
Dried mango bars
It is hard to picture a summertime without mom-made dried mango treats. Made at home, these are a chewy, sweet, and tangy snack that tastes even better.
Peel and slice the ripe mangos first. Slices should be boiled until tender, then blended with spices into a smooth purée. After spreading the puree onto a parchment paper-lined baking sheet, let it dry in the sun for a few days.
Mango rice
Known by many as “Aam dudh bhaat,” this is a traditional summertime mango dish.
This is a popular dish to eat for Sehri as well, if summer and Ramadan coincide (as they did for the past several years). It’s delicious and filling. Mango sticky rice, which combines soft glutinous rice with a sweetened coconut milk sauce in addition to ripe mango pieces, is a comparable meal.
Frozen treats
An old favorite is mango ice cream. Alternatively, juicy mangoes with vanilla ice cream make a decadent treat that is difficult to refuse.

Consider getting some gelato for a lighter choice. In Dhaka, gelatos are becoming more popular and are trying to seriously challenge ice cream. Their lower fat level and slow churning process give them a rich, dense texture and strong mango flavor.
Mango popsicles may be produced quickly and simply at home by combining fresh mango puree with a little lime juice and honey, then putting the liquid into molds and freezing it until it solidifies.
Mango chutney
Mango chutney is made using diced mangoes, sugar, vinegar, and spices. It has just the right amount of sweetness and tanginess, along with a sense of spice.
This chutney goes well with a hot dish of Shingaras or can be used as a glaze for meats and vegetables. Mango chutney adds a hint of tropical flair to food preparations with its strong flavor and adaptability.
