Lahore: District Education Authority Lahore has suspended 56 teachers who did not perform duty in board exams.
The education department has completed an inquiry against the absentee teachers in the board exams, which revealed that the teachers had switched off their phone numbers on the day of the examination.
According to the inquiry report, the teachers who were contacted refused to do duty, absenteeism led to reduced staffing and administrative problems, students failing exams due to the absence of invigilators faced difficulties.
Sources told Aaj Ki Aawaz News that due to lack of staff, exams could not start on time, exam centers also faced difficulty in preventing students from cheating.
According to the District Education Authority Lahore, action will be taken against the teachers under the PEDA Act.
