The Pakistan Flour Mills Association had announced the end of the strike on the government’s offer of negotiations, but there was no progress in the negotiations between the Government Committee and the Flour Mills Association on this matter and the deadlock remained.

Flour mills across the country have threatened to go on strike and shut down the mills.

Chairman of Pakistan Flour Mills Association Aamir Abdullah has said that if the government does not remove the withholding tax, then they will close the flour mills again from July 23.

Recently, the Flour Mills Association had announced to postpone its strike for 10 days, while due to the strike, an increase in the prices of flour was recorded in many cities of the country.

It should be noted that the Chairman of Flour Mills Association had said that the cruel tax measure will open a new door of corruption and the implementation of FBR tax will increase the price of flour by 8 rupees per kg.
