NatWest down: Users get error warnings when the online banking app is not functioning.
A workaround enables consumers to verify the security of their funds
Users are experiencing a variety of error messages and the online banking app is unavailable. When users’ phones tried to connect to NatWest’s servers, an error page said that there had been “some kind of error.” Customers were advised to try upgrading their app and checking their WiFi settings. However, it seems that NatWest’s own services are the issue.
Nonetheless, it seemed that the problems were exclusive to NatWest’s online banking mobile app. It appears that logging in via the website is unaffected. Customers of NatWest were also informed that they may still use their cards to obtain cash from ATMs, banks, and the Post Office, as well as to make payments.
In a website update, NatWest stated that “some of our customers are experiencing issues when trying to log in to our mobile app.” “We apologize for any inconvenience, and we’re putting a lot of effort into getting everything back up and going for you.”
Numerous clients also reported issues on Twitter. There, it stated that the bank is “hoping this will be resolved as soon as possible” and that NatWest’s tech staff was “working hard to get it resolved.” NatWest did not specify the duration of the app’s possible outage. The UK government still owns a portion of NatWest after investing during the financial crisis.
