Islamabad: Federal Minister for Energy Owais Ahmed Laghari announced the good news of relief to the people worried about the heavy electricity bills.
According to details, Federal Energy Minister Owais Ahmed Laghari says that the government is taking emergency measures in the energy sector, in the next two to three months four power plants will be transferred to local coal.
The energy minister said that the re-profiling of loans with China will benefit $8 billion, which will provide relief to the public in electricity bills.

Note that China has agreed to convert 3 imported coal-fired power plants to domestic coal.
According to sources, these plants include 1320 MW Sahiwal, 1320 MW Hub and 1320 MW Port Qasim Power Plant.
The authorities of the two countries have also decided on the procedure to proceed with the matters of the imported coal-fired power plants, the meetings between the Pakistani and Chinese authorities regarding the conversion and re-profiling of the three power plants will continue.
